Heather Ferguson is heard here in peak form awash in the elegant and mesmerizing sounds of saxophonist Barrie Sorensen and trumpeter Miguelito Valdes…The result is that the performance throughout the album is marvelously clean and the music itself can only be called luminous.

Short Bio
More than a decade in the making, Heather Ferguson is now recording and performing with some of Victoria and Toronto’s most accomplished jazz musicians. Her daily life is filled with joy and a lot of music. It’s a second act for her, one she is embracing with all the enthusiasm and hard work she puts to everything she does.
Music is a lifelong passion she didn’t ever think would happen for her. But later in life the stars aligned, “I am an incurable, lifelong learner”, says Heather, “and with music I just find the work gets more interesting the deeper you go.”
Now she is bringing her own songs and experiences to performance with a single release every month leading up to her second album. You can find her on streaming platforms including Spotify, YouTube and Apple.
Her upcoming album, to be released in 2025, will include her own songs as well as original co-writes with the ever brilliant Attila Fias - and great arrangements of jazz standards from her ongoing collaboration with the great and always patient Dr. Tony Genge. Everything is recorded with the fabulous musicians she works with regularly at Victoria’s 1 Ton Studio.
