Heather Ferguson is heard here in peak form awash in the elegant and mesmerizing sounds of saxophonist Barrie Sorensen and trumpeter Miguelito Valdes…The result is that the performance throughout the album is marvelously clean and the music itself can only be called luminous.

Short Bio

Heather’s “road” to music was long and winding, but the singer-songwriter, based in Victoria, Canada, is becoming known for her interpretations of great 20th century songs, as well as her own original work. Watch for her second album of original songs and jazz standards due for release spring 2025.

A family move took Ferguson from Toronto to a new home in Victoria, Canada where Heather was one of the first to enroll in the newly created Chywll Contemporary School at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. It was there she met the great bassist, Joey Smith

Under Joey’s mentorship Heather eventually graduated to solo shows at Victoria’s storied Hermann’s Jazz Club.  From there she started recording, first releasing of singles and in 2022 a debut album, Lush Life, with producer Wynn Gogol of 1 Ton Studios.

A dynamic and consummate performer with an elegant sound and a soulful warm voice, Ferguson’s music can be found on most streaming platforms including Spotify, YouTube and Apple and on many curated playlists.
